This richly layered sampler draws from Shakespeare’s Macbeth, bringing the atmospheric woodland scene to life with a charming pointed-roof cottage, bold black ravens perched and in flight, a bushy-tailed squirrel, and celestial sun and moon faces rendered in a folk art style. Intricate knotwork and geometric border strips frame the composition on all sides, lending it the feel of a treasured historical reproduction. The autumnal color palette — earthy greens, warm golds, burnt oranges, and deep blacks — is achieved through a combination of standard DMC floss and richly saturated Dinky Dyes hand-dyed specialty threads, giving the finished piece exceptional depth and character.
