Description
Lakshmi, from Pinn Stitch.
Designed by Saifhon Borisuthipandit, © 2004.
This pattern depicts Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of wealth, fortune, and prosperity, rendered in a lush, jewel-toned palette of deep teal, vibrant pink, and glittering gold. She sits serenely atop a pink lotus flower, holding lotus blooms in raised hands while gold coins cascade from her palm into a overflowing bowl below — classic iconographic symbols of her divine abundance. A richly ornamented baby elephant kneels devotedly beside her, completing this traditionally inspired, deeply decorative composition that draws equally from fine art and spiritual heritage.
