Description
America Two Hundred and Fifty, from Plum Street Samplers.
Designed by Paulette Stewart, © 2026.
This grand commemorative sampler is rich with American historical iconography, depicting a tall sailing ship on open water, Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, a galloping Paul Revere-style rider, and a majestic bald eagle clutching arrows above an American flag — all framed by an elaborate border of folk art flowers, patriotic eight-pointed stars, and vining foliage. The date banner ‘1776 • 2026’ anchors the composition, while a biblical reference to Leviticus 25:10 and the Declaration of Independence’s immortal opening line lend the design deep historical and spiritual resonance. Rendered in an antique-inspired palette with specialty hand-dyed flosses, the overall aesthetic evokes the spirit of early American needlework traditions with a timeless, heirloom quality.
