Kreinik Japan #1

Kreinik Japan Threads are synthetic, non-tarnishing narrow ornamental threads that give the appearance of stitching with real metals.

Super-fine 1-ply thread
Non-tarnishing
10 meter (11 yard) spools
Machine-washable
Made in the U.S.A.

Both sides of the spool open; look for the side where the thread end is located. Insert your thumbnail under the cap, and rotate the spool while gently lifting the cap to release the thread (the cap should not pop off). Snap the lid shut to secure the unused portion.

Use short lengths of thread – about 45cm (18 inches) or less – to avoid wear on the thread while stitching. Using short lengths will maintain the quality of the thread and reduce tangling.

Use a needle large enough to sufficiently ‘open’ a hole in the fabric and allow the thread to go through easily. Let your needle hang frequently and allow the thread to untwist.

Stitch using the ‘stab’ method to avoid tangling, working your stitches in two movements: up vertically then down vertically through the fabric.
